Medical Update: My ECG is on Wednesday morning.  Have to have clean hair with no products in it so am going to be a frizzy mess.

Medical Update: NHS i love you but you have to make it easier for people to contact you.  Spoke to six different people who kept giving me new phones numbers before i got through to the right person.  Finally got there and the nice women read out my report for me. Still no answers though.  MRI came back fine, no lesions which is good, but still don't know what is wrong with me.  Have to wait for a EKG next to check for epilepsy.   Have i mentioned i hate waiting?

Random: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!

Why are pointy shoes back?
Thought of the day (aka rant): I found out yesterday that if a crime happens on a cruise ship then the police of the place where the ship is registered has jurisdiction.  Quite a few ships (including the one James is planning to take us on) are registered in the Bahamas. When Rebecca Coriam disappeared the Bahamas police sent one officer.  James said that the cruise would be a good place to kill me.  If i don't come back you know why although now that I've wrote it on my blog he probably won't because he'd be the prime suspect.  Then again, maybe he'll think that no one would believe that he'd be so stupid to kill me after I've written it on my blog that no one would suspect him.  Or, maybe they'll think that he thought that they'd think... i could keep going a very long time.

Not sure why James would want to kill me exactly but i should probably stop nagging him about leaving his shoes in front of my draw just in case (He puts them right in front and then i can't open it, he could put them in front of his draw...).

Anyways, the parents of Rebecca Coriam are campaigning for a change in the law to allow UK authorities to investigate cases of British nationals who go missing on vessels registered abroad.  If you'd like to sign the petition please go to the link below.

Medical Update: Had a really bad episode yesterday.  Couldn't move, walk or talk and kept coming back.  Would be so bad if it just came, did it's thing and then went.  When it stops you know that it's coming back soon but you don't know when or how bad it will be.  Couldn't lower my arms to the side of my body at one point.  Is like becoming a statue.  On the plus side, James and I are developed a new language, one grunt for can't talk, two for can't move.  Three for "Shut up James, you're not funny!".  He really isn't!

Feeling shaky at the moment so know it's coming back, just don't know when or how bad it will be.  hope that the NHS ain't forgot about me, would like to know what is wrong with me and if they can fix it at some point.  At your own convenience like, when you have time maybe.

Thought of the day (aka rant): Where did personal responsibility go?  I'm sure i heard of it a some point it but is seems to have vanished.  The amount of injury lawyer adverts on to is annoying me.  Some times bad things happen, it doesn't have to be some one's fault.  If you trip on the pavement don't sue the council, watch where you're going.   How come:

When good things happen to you - Good Luck or karma
When good things happen to others - Sod's law
When bad things happen to others - Karma
When bad things happen to you - Look for someone to blame (and a lawyer)

Medical Update: Haven't done any updates for a while as nothing new to add really.  Some days are ok, some days are really bad.  Bad days are generally when it is the least convenient, like not being able eat at a restaurant or having trouble walking around Morrisons.  Bad episodes are getting more frequent and during them i can't walk or talk.  Only get pain on the better days when the tremors stop.  Waiting to find out when i go back to the neurologist to find out the results of the MRI.

Tuesday 8 May 2012

Medical Update: Today has been good today but had a really bad bank holiday weekend.  Tremors were relentless and had quite a few episodes where i couldn't walk or talk and kept freezing.  Had trouble getting them to stop long enough to go to sleep.  James has done research and apparently the tremors happen because my brain keeps telling my body to move and when it doesn't respond it keeps telling it over and over again so that when my body can move it moves too much and that's why i get tremors.  Sounds like my old laptop, would click to open the web browser and it wouldn't respond so i'd keep clicking only to end up with ten browsers open at once. It's very annoying whatever it is.

Random:  Why do journalists think that local results and national results are one in the same?

P.S. Am i the only one who thinks Ed Miliband is reminiscent of a contestant on The Apprentice?
Thought of the Day (aka rant):  A large number of people in the UK suffer from movement disorders.

Essential tremor - the most common movement disorder - affects one in 20 people under the age of 40 and one in five people over 65.  (http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/physical_health/conditions/movementdisorders1.shtml)

120,000 people in the UK have Parkinson's. (http://www.hesonline.nhs.uk/Ease/servlet/ContentServer?siteID=1937&categoryID=868)

100,000 have MS. (http://www.mssociety.org.uk/what-is-ms)

300,000 people in the UK suffer from Tourettes. (http://www.touretteshero.com/faq/)

Isn't it time that these people were more represented on TV so that if you're on a train maybe not quite as many people stare at you?  Just think public awareness needs to be raised a bit to reduce the levels of ignorance.
Medical Update: Well MRI is done, just have to wait for the results now.  The machine was scary, I've never been buried alive (Don't think many people have and lived to tell the tale unless you're Max from Eastenders) but i imagine it feels a bit like being put in a tiny space so that magnets can bang around you. The noises are horrible, but are like ten different ones.  The first one took like 25 minutes then had to go back in for another ten minutes with a cage thing around my head.  Was very hard to stay calm, kept wanting to scream to get out.  Thought they were kidding when they said i had to go back in again.  It's the noises that are the worse, James was two rooms away and he could still hear it.

Lessons you can learn from Disney: Lesson 1 Quasimodo

  • You should value what you have as someone somewhere always has it worse than you do.
  • Sometimes the hero doesn't always get the girl (unless you count rubbish sequels that i choose to ignore) and that's ok.  Yourself is enough.
  • People will tell you anything to get what they want.
  • You should always stand up against injustice.
  • You should never follow orders blindly (Unless you're blindfolded and they're leading you round a maze or something).
  • Children are less prejudice that adults.
  • Villains always get great songs.
  • With great power comes great corruption (In reality Spiderman would be an assassin to hire, would make far more money than taking photos).
  • Gargoyles are cool.
Medical Update: Thought yesterday was going to be a good day but turned out to be a really bad one and tremors and packed trains do not mix.  Journey took three and a half hours instead of two and four trains instead of two and my head shook the entire time and get losing my balance so stayed away from people and the tracks (Which wasn't easy as every where was packed).  Couldn't walk at one point and kept worrying i would freeze and wouldn't be able to get off the train.

When you have a broken foot most people are really nice to you and do whatever they can to help.  When you're having tremors people either stare at you and think you're crazy or they stare and pretend not to stare.  Tremors are not socially acceptable.  Hopefully at least everyone i know who has seen mine now will be a bit more understanding and nicer if they see someone else having them.  Making someone feel like a leper makes the tremors worse.

Just for the record, it is far easier to stand on a moving train with a broken foot than it is whilst having tremors.

Lost the ability to walk and talk again last night.

Random: Am very lucky to have two homes. There aren't enough words to describe how amazing my two housemates are, they're simply the best (Tina Turner) and i would never have gotten through the last three months being positive without either of them.  However, during the day it's Charlie, Lola and Gizmo that keep me sane.  So, i say in the battle of cats v dogs, why choose.  They're actually pretty similar.

        Cats                                                                                  Dogs

Lola is scared of everything.                                              Gizmo is scared of everything.
Seriously mean everything!                                                Seriously mean everything.

When Lola is scared she runs away                                   When Gizmo is scared he barks
and meows a lot.                                                                and attacks (Even tape measures)

Charlie and Lola sleep on my legs.                                     Gizmo steals half the bed.

Charlie and Lola do sad eyes to get your                            Gizmo sits still and behaves to get
your dinner.                                                                         your dinner.

Charlie puts mud all over the bed.                                       Gizmo puts mud all over the bed.

Spend most of your day figuring out what                           Spend most of your day telling Giz
to food Lola wants.                                                              to be quiet.

Charlie tries to scratch your leg.                                         Giz tries to hump your leg.

Like toys that make noises.                                                 Likes toys that make noises.

Are very insistent when they want to play.                          Is very insistent when he wants to
                                                                                           play.

Have claws (and uses).                                                      Has bark (and uses)

Charlie and Lola sleep with their arms                                 Giz gives you nudges and lets you
around each other.                                                              carry him around all the time.

Think they own the house.                                                 Thinks he owns the house.

Lola gets annoyed if i leave stuff                                       Gizmo gets annoyed if i leave stuff
in her bedroom.                                                                 on his sofa.

Charlie don't care what destruction                                   Gizmo don't care that he runs
he causes by running around.                                           around and causes destruction.
